The Chiefs…The sad, sad Chiefs

Current Mood:Angry emoticon Angry

Well, it looks to be another loooong year for Chiefs fans. Croyle is one of the softest quarterbacks I’ve ever seen. Of course he’s not helped by our piss poor line.

Dwayne Bowe is NOT a number 1 receiver. No real number 1 receiver drops 4 fuckin’ passes. And if said number 1 receiver does drop 4 passes, he doesn’t give an interview after the game and nonchalantly say “he played OK.” He should be pissed at himself. Let us know how he’ll never let that happen again. But no, he’s apparently comfortable at being a failure. Well there’s no wonder Carl Peterson likes him so. Peas in a pod. What are we in now? Year 19 of his 3 year plan?

The defense looks pretty good however. Not impressed by our new middle linebacker, but liking our secondary…for the most part. Our d-line is a work in progress.

Only real bright spot was Jamaal Charles and the ever steady Tony G. Larry Johnson just isn’t what he used to be and that worries me, but we’re stacked at that position so not a big worry.

With all that said, at least we’re not the Raiders…HA!

Randomness FTW

Go U.S.A.

Somewhat of a follow up to me being a Rock Band God, my cuz Allen will be excited to hear Rush’s album Moving Pictures will soon be coming to Rock Band. Me, not so excited. The song YYZ will be frustratingly boring to me and I’m just not a huge Rush fan to begin with. In bad news, my mic has a short in it…noooooooo!

Breathe Jamaal, breathe. Ok, moving on. Been watching a lot of Olympics coverage and Usain Bolt of Jamaica is ridiculously fast. That fucker can fly. Won gold easily in the 100 and 200m and broke the world record in both. He won the 200 by like 5 body lengths. It was crazy to see. I’d be embarrassed to come in 2nd.

I watched the woman’s soccer gold medal match this morning and Marta of Brazil has got to be the best woman’s soccer player by far. She was beating double and triple teams consistently all game. So talented. Of course all that talent goes for naught as the U.S. women won in overtime to defend their gold medal from the 2004 games.

That’s really it as far as standout performances. The “Redeem Team” is looking very good but I’ll hold judgment until it’s all over.

I also was shocked to see WALKING is a fuckin’ Olympic sport. Fuckin’ Walking. They was talking about the “competitors” last night and one of the announcers actually said, and I’m paraphrasing “The Russians look really strong. They’ve been walking very well this year.” Are you fuckin’ kidding me!? Really, they’ve been walking well this year? Ridiculous.

In positive news, Tre’ is a fan of Fullmetal Alchemist(my 3rd favorite anime). Which shocked me as there isn’t a whole lot of action. Though it deals a lot with death and morality issues and trying to explain a lot of the things going on to a 5 year old is damn near impossible.

In vacation news, I’m still not looking forward to it. Though it got a little better as we’ll probably take a day trip to Vegas. Little over a 2 hour drive from where we’re staying. Likely check out a couple shows. I’m thinking Blue Man Group. Not big into gambling. Seems like a huge waste of money and time to me.

One last small note.  R.I.P. to Julius Carry III better known to most as Sho Nuff from the movie The Last Dragon.  One of my favorite/fun movies of all time.  Now bow down and kiss his converse!  Rough week for us black folk.  First Bernie Mac, then Isaac Hayes, now Julius Carry III.

And I’m out!

Jordan’s on a cripple?

Current Mood:Bad emoticon Bad

What a waste, right? I bought some awhile back. Like about 8 months ago. Just never wore them, ever. I preferred my black Chuck Taylors. Well today, I finally wore them…and well, nothing to report. Apparently they don’t cure paralysis. I know, I’m just as upset as you are. Aw well, I must move on.

I went to Tre’s first t-ball scrimmage today. It did not go well. It’s safe to say, Tre’ is totally not diggin’ America’s past time. Pictures upcoming. I think we may have to wait until next year. Luckily the glove, and helmet we got him will still be usable for a couple of years. He whined, cried, played in the dirt, got upset cuz he didn’t get the ball every time. It was not a pretty picture…and here they are…including my Jordan’s! As well as a couple good pics of Oogie.

The ultimate in sportsmanship

Current Mood:Crazy emoticon Crazy

Sportsmanship is alive

See that image above. That is one of the greatest pictures ever. Ranking up there with my ultimate picture. Which is when Tommie Smith and John Carlos raise fists for Black Power in 1968 at the Olympic games.

I know, you’re thinking, why is the above picture so great? And I’ll tell ya…be a pointless post if I didn’t. Well, as you can see, two teammates are clearly carrying a player of the opposite team. Noble in it’s own right, but not worthy of being called “one of the greatest pictures ever”. The reason it’s so awesome is the girl being carried, senior Sara Tucholsky, just homered on the other team. Her first homerun ever. Well while rounding the bases, in her excitement, she missed first base. So as she turned around to touch first base she tweaked her knee bad. Due to a rule in baseball/softball, if a player homers and can’t round the bases for whatever reason, it goes down as a single. Her teammates cannot help her round the bases neither. In an awesome moment of sportsmanship, the other team carried her around the bases so she was credited for a home run. Awesome!

Sports happens

Current Mood:Chill emoticon Chill

Well the draft has come and gone and I’m pretty happy with how things went down. Chiefs really scored with their first 4 picks. Would’ve liked to have seen them take at least one offensive lineman with one of their third round picks. But can’t complain when we get possibly the best player in the draft in Glenn Dorsey and an offensive lineman who may be the steal of the draft in Branden Albert. Follow that up with the hard hitting Brandon Flowers out of VT, and the fast as all hell Jamaal Charles and I actually look forward to next year…unfortunately Herm will almost guaranteed ruin all chances at a respectable season. Fuckin’ Herm.

Roger Clemens keeps digging himself deeper and deeper. Apparently he had a 10 year affair with Oxycontin spokeswoman, convict, and part-time country singer Mindy McCready. Which apparently began when she was only 15. I guess he never heard the saying “15 will get you 20″. He went by the motto, “Old enough to bleed, old enough to breed”. Of course he “flatly denied” all accusations through his lawyer. Which of course comes on the heels of him “flatly denying” his use of performance enhancing drugs. Unfortunately for him Mindy McCready today denied nothing, and all but confirmed the affair. Clemens, grade A douche bag.

The Orlando Magic won their first playoff series since 1996, and it’s about time. After Shaq and Penny left the Magic way back when, I quit the sport for about 10 years, so I missed all of their struggles and just came back to Basketball this year. Them winning…Coincidence?…I think not! Side note: Dwight Howard is the Bomb Diggity yo! Averaging 21pts and 18 boards in the series.

My other team, the Braves, not fairing as well. Tom Glavine on the DL for the first time in his long career(he is back today however), Mike Hampton’s 20 million a year fragile ass, Smoltzies shoulder acting up, Mike Gonzalez still out, our most consistent reliever Peter Moylan on the 15 day DL, and our Closer also on the 15 day DL makes for a bad patchwork pitching staff.

Then you got Chipper Jones and Yunel Escobar playing hurt. Only bright spot thus far is Jurrjens is pitching really well. Hopefully things get turned around but I’m not optimistic. Side note: Braves need more TV time…fuckin’ TBS!

UFC 82: Pride of a Champion

Spoiler alert for Allen…
.
.
.
.
.
.
.
.
.
.
.
.
Jon Fitch vs Chris Wilson - A close fight without a lot of action. Fitch wins via unanimous decision.

Yushin Okami vs Evan Tanner - I was rooting for Evan Tanner but knew it wasn’t likely to happen. Tanner’s been out of the game for 2 years, soul searching…and by soul searching, I mean drinking lots of beer and posting crazy drunken ramblings on his myspace blog. Okami finished it with a huge knee, knocking out the madman of Vegas.

Chris Leben vs Alessio Sakara - I hate Leben, but I hope he continues to win if only to get a rematch versus Silva and to be ultimately dismantled. Leben wins via wild brawling KO…decent match.

Heath Herring vs Cheick Kongo - Great first round, with some surprisingly good jiu jitsu by both men. Then round 2 came and we were subjected to Herring in side control hitting about 30 knees to Kongo’s side. Kongo…did nothing. 3rd round was more of the same only Herring hit about 50 knees to Kongo’s side. Some retard judge actually had Kongo winning the fight. Herring wins via split decision.

Anderson Silva vs Dan Henderson - The only reason I purchased the PPV. Silva is slowly rising to God like status. I really though Hendo had a chance, and after the first round I was even more convinced…then Silva lands a big knee, gets back control and that’s all she wrote as Silva slaps on a rear naked choke forcing Hendo to tap. Silva is unbeatable. Fucking awesome.

Got one bonus fight and it was fucking great. Josh Koscheck vs. Dustin Hazelett - Koscheck landed a big bomb KO’ing Hazelett. It was a fun fight.

Reality? Who’s reality, sure as hell ain’t mine.

Current Mood:Indifferent emoticon Indifferent

I submersed myself in reality tv today. Got caught up on Celebrity Rehab. Anybody runnin’ a pool on who will actually stay sober? I say it’s a clean sweep…and none of ‘em do. I like Mary Carey, but I don’t think she has a chance. I say Chyna’s dead by 2009 whether it be suicide or accidental OD. Ricco’s still a fuckin scumbag. If I had to bet, I’d put my money on Shifty…maybe Brigitte. Jaimee Foxworth is gonna get bombed out of her mind within a week. Jessica Sierra is a toss up. I’m leaning towards relapse, but then cleans her act up. It sure as hell doesn’t look promising for any of ‘em.

Also watched the BBC’s Ramsays Kitchen Nightmares. Not much commentary, other than the owner being a loser. Kudos to the head chef for being a stand-up guy willing to help troubled youth.

I just deleted my DVR recording of My Fair Brady. There are no redeeming qualities to that show. I’m ashamed for ever watching it. Just total crap.

Watched America’s Best Dance Crew Saturday or so. Again, I think the JabbaWockeeZ did the best in actually following the guidelines. I really liked Status Quo and Kaba Modern as well. I never liked Live in Color. Same thing every fricken’ week. BreakSk8 was kinda just there. And nobody really cares what Fysh N Chicks did. I’ll be shocked if they last another week.

Side note: Jayhawks killin’ Texas Tech…woohoo!

More randomness

Current Mood:Sad emoticon Sad

It’s all coming to a head. I shall have no further comment. You know, mystery wrapped in an enigma type shit.

I used to be a huge wrestling fan. Often spending a couple hundred dollars a month on Japanese and Indy wrestling DVD’s. So today while chillin’(did a lot of that today) what do I hear? Not one, but TWO Killer Kowalski references. 1st was on PTI while they were talking about Mayweather “fighting” The Big Show at Wrestlemania. The second was on an episode of Seinfeld with Kramer demonstrating the “claw hold” on George. What are the odds of two references in one day?

Watched some more trainwreck TV. Yet to watch the latest Rock of Love, but did catch Scott Baio is 46 and Pregnant as well as My Fair Brady. Scott’s loser friend is PATHETIC. Scott isn’t far off but he appears to be “getting it”. Or so the show will have you believe. My Fair Brady is just…why are they still together again? He sets up a beautiful day for his woman, and in the end, she continues to be a bitch with no respect for other’s feelings.

And THE king of all trainwreck TV, has got to be Moment of Truth. Last night was cringe worthy as the “contestant” dropped bomb after bomb on her husband. Including, but not limited to, admitting infidelity and saying she believes she should be married to her ex instead of her current beau. Then to end it all off she loses on a question that asks…”Do you believe you are a good person?” She said yes, lie detector disagreed. It was great in a completely sad and pathetic way.

Dynasty Warriors 6 is calling my name so I must bid you adieu…I said adieu!

Dwight Howard is the bomb diggitty yo

Current Mood:Frustrated emoticon Frustrated

dhoward_sm.jpg

He dominated the slam dunk contest. I told all ya’ll(Allen), he was the truth! He had three craaaaazy dunks. His Superman dunk had me rollin’! Just good shit all around.

As for the rest of the festivities…
Dwyane Wade’s a bitch. That was a sad, pathetic showing. Kapono is awesome. Never seen him play, might have to check ‘em out…but then I’d have to watch the Raptors. He can flat stroke it.

Best part of the show was EASILY Charles Barkley talking/commentating/rambling. He had me laughin’ so fuckin hard my jaws were starting to hurt. Good time’s, good time’s. “There is a titty out there!”

Damn you Texas!

Current Mood:Indifferent emoticon Indifferent

Kansas went down today to number 11 Texas. They were HORRIBLE in the second half. Could not hit a jumper to save their lives. Chalmers was the only thing keeping us in it with his dribble penetration. Was just ugly. Rush needs to learn better shot selection. He just be throwing shit up.

That is all…I’m disgusted
