Lost Season 3

lost.jpg

I quit watching season 3 with about 7 episodes to go. I don’t know why, I just did. I had them on my DVR, I just was in no rush to watch them. Then in a moment of momentary stupidity while cleaning my DVR of old programs to make room for new. I deleted the final 7 episodes. I didn’t even notice until I clicked ok for the finale what I had done. But I think that was a good thing. I downloaded the final 7 episodes and watched ‘em via my 360 over the course of the last 2 days and it has renewed my love for the show. I just loved every bit of it. I actually teared up twice during the finale with Charlie’s swan song. I’ll check my “man card” at the door on my way out.

This show is so much better when you watch the shows back-to-back other than weekly. I also would get all into it and check rumor boards and whatnot, and I think that kind of ruined it for me as well. I liked just watching things unfold like a good book. Coming up with my own hypothesis and whatnot without being influenced by others.

Can’t wait for Season 4 now…though, much less enthused with it being shortened to just 8 episodes. I fear the writer’s strike could be the death knell for Lost.

Sidenote: Jack is still a horrible f’n character.

1 down…

2 to go. Mike Solari, offensive retard coordinator for the Kansas City Chiefs is no more. Fired today after a horrible season for the Chiefs in his first year as an offensive retard coordinator.

Now we just need to lose Herm and Carl Peterson and I’m a happy camper. Unfortunately I don’t think that’s happening. Maybe we’ll get an offensive coordinator in who can open Herm up a little…and Peterson will patch up the offensive line whether through the draft or free agency.

I’m not optimistic.

Happy New Years!

Some famous, and not so famous quotes to bring in the New Year.

Be always at war with your vices, at peace with your neighbors, and let each new year find you a better person. – Ben Franklin

We spend January 1 walking through our lives, room by room, drawing up a list of work to be done, cracks to be patched. Maybe this year, to balance the list, we ought to walk through the rooms of our lives… not looking for flaws, but for potential. ~Ellen Goodman

Youth is when you’re allowed to stay up late on New Year’s Eve. Middle age is when you’re forced to. ~Bill Vaughn

An optimist stays up until midnight to see the new year in. A pessimist stays up to make sure the old year leaves. ~Bill Vaughan

We will open the book. Its pages are blank. We are going to put words on them ourselves. The book is called Opportunity and its first chapter is New Year’s Day. ~Edith Lovejoy Pierce

One resolution I have made, and try always to keep, is this: To rise above the little things. ~John Burroughs
