Johan Santana is set to invade the National League. That in itself is not so bad. What’s bad is he’s set to join the N.Y. Mets. This doesn’t look good for my beloved Braves as they traditionally struggle vs power pitchers. Plus he has that KILLER change up to go along with his blazing fastball. I’m sad. We get fucking Kotsay and the Mets get Santana. So unfair. I hate our GM and cheap ass Time Warner/AOL.

I’ve still yet to receive my 360 coffin so I can send the sumbitch in to be fixed…again. Sometime this week, I’m gonna go out and get me a new 360 with the new “falcon” chip. Hopefully it’ll last longer than 6 months at a time.
In the meanwhile I decided to install Battle For Middle Earth II on my laptop. I’ve had it awhile but for some reason or another it wouldn’t work. Now it works like a charm. Fun little RTS. I suck at it but I’m having fun and that’s good enough for me. I had played it on the 360 when it came out and didn’t realize until the last level that I could build walls. The whole game I was thinking, what RTS doesn’t let you build a fuckin’ wall!? Doh! Anywho, I’m having a blast with it.
Also been playing alot of Xenogears. Great fuckin’ game. I missed it it’s first go around. I was all about Suikoden and Wild Arms around that time. The story in Xenogears is awesome. How did this game not get the politico’s up in arms or did I just miss it. I don’t think it would make it in this day and age and that’s a damn shame. Hell, Mass Effect was getting blasted by some stupid bitch on Fox News(yeah I know) for a 15 second PG-13 “sex scene”. For the record, I’m only calling her a stupid bitch because she was part of a round table discussion as an “expert” on the subject. And not only did she NOT play the game, but she didn’t even see the scene in question before spouting her garbage. There’s worse shit every night on prime time TV. Bitch…don’t be fuckin with my games!
Where was I? Oh yeah, Xenogears is rockin’ my fuckin’ socks off.

Today I give you Papoose. Until I heard this song, I had never heard of him. I’m not real upto it as it relates to underground hip-hop. Since I have no personal experience as it relates to Papoose, I give you his WIKI PAGE.
The song is a lyrical nightmare I imagine for most rappers as he raps the alphabet. Calm down, it’s not like it sounds. He goes through the whole alphabet using only words starting with the specific letter he’s on. Pretty impressive. The beat’s alright. I’ve heard it somewhere but can’t place it. What’s important is it makes you bob your head.

Yesterday, not only did we get 1 new episode of Chuck, but we got 2! Decent stuff, though if Adam Baldwin wasn’t on the show I don’t think it’d be even 1/10th as good. He makes the show. And of course Yvonne Strahovski is all kinds of hotness. Evidence…

Episode 12 was kinda slow. Not too interesting…matter of fact, I don’t remember what happened other than “Captain Awesome” and Ellie’s issues. I enjoyed episode 13 much more, though again, Baldwin steals the show. A fun, turn your mind off type of show.

…Oh how I lov…loath..no, it’s something in between those two. Damn the writer’s strike for forcing this upon me! Today I watched Rock of Love II, My Fair Brady, and Celebrity Rehab.
Rock of Love II is ridiculous. How the hell is that crazy, ugly, amazonian, French chick still there? She’s just fuckin’ frightening. Not much else to say. I feel sorry for the ladies(and I use the term loosely) who think they’re gonna actually become Mrs. Bret Michaels. He’s only in it for the abundance of easy ass.
My Fair Brady is ridiculous in a completely different way. There’s no chance in Hell they stay together. She’s fuckin’ looney toons, and he’s freaking over a nude photoshoot. Most men would love that shit. Maybe he’s just using it as a reason to leave her in the future. Definition of “trainwreck TV”.
I’m actually liking Celebrity Rehab with Dr. Drew. Ricco Rodriguez is a giant douche bag. Mary Carey looks to be headed for a giant crash. Baldwin is a little too self-righteous. Chyna’s been pretty much obsolete. Overall, not a bad show.
Now, if I could only get this stench off of me. I feel so dirty. Writer’s! Come back!

This is my first experience with these types of movies. Film-Noir I think is what it is. Also my first exposure to James Cagney from what I can recall. I chose this as my first foray into the genre, because it was the only one I knew anything about. Of course that knowledge was from Tupac in the movie Juice and of course it’s now iconic line…”Made it, Ma! Top of the world!”
Anyway, with that said. I really liked it. I really dug Cagney. I really dug Virginia Mayo, and really dug how it played out. A good first introduction to both the film-noir genre, and James Cagney. The ending was good despite me seeing it 400x in numerous incarnations on numerous TV shows. I’ll definitely be checking out more in the genre. I DO think it was maybe 20 minutes too long, but it didn’t hurt the overall experience much.

I usually make a full post on the monthly UFC PPV’s but I’m just too lazy today. Which is unfortunate, because it was a pretty good show, despite the lackluster card. Kendall Grove continues to bring the suck by getting knocked out again in the 1st round. Lambert dominates the first round, only to get floored by one punch, 30 seconds into the second round against Wilson Gouveia. Gonzaga’s a 1 kick wonder and B.J. Penn is SCARY good at 155.
Kansas basketball still kicks ass. Now ranked number 2 behind Memphis who is number 1 for the 1st time in school history. Big HA! at North Carolina and it’s crying ass fans. TO called and he wants his spotlight back.
Unlike the aforementioned Kendall Grove, Escaflowne continues to bring the awesome. 2 more discs to go. Hope it doesn’t lose it’s steam.
I shaved off my ’stache and it is not a pretty site. It’s downright frightening. Never happening again.

Went to the movies tonight. Had originally planned to see Cloverfield, but was over-ruled by my movie going compatriots. So we saw Juno instead. And I gotta say, I am not disappointed. It was a very good movie. Juno was so extremely likeable. Her parents had some of the funniest lines of the movie. Especially her dad. Quotables throughout the entire movie. My favorite was “Thundercats ho!” when her water breaks.
Had a similar feel, comedy wise, to Little Miss Sunshine as pointed by my cousin Allen. Just had you smiling the entire movie, with many a laugh out loud moment. I think the previews really didn’t do this movie justice. As I had no interest seeing it. I thought, maybe I’d just catch it on cable. No rush. Now after seeing it, it is now on my to buy list. No complaints at all…well, not a huge fan of the soundtrack…BUT it fit the movie. So can’t complain too much. All in all, a highly recommended movie.

This week we have my current favorite hip-hop group. That group Jurassic 5. Only problem is, they’re no longer current as they broke up. Ego’s are a bitch. It’s a shame they never made it bigger, cuz they’re a perfect blend of old school and new. Simple rhymes that just flow into one another. No overly complicated deliveries, no gimmick, not overly produced shit. Just a simple sound with great lyricists. I guess the CunninLynguists get to be my new favorite hip-hop crew by default. I really love their new album Dirty Acres. But that neither here nor there as this is about the greatness of J5. Picking one song is impossible. So I devised a complicated system that only I and the greatest of mind’s would understand. I’m not gonna even try to explain, but it involves a blindfold and pointing…like I said, very complicated.

Well, my 360 has died on me again. In the middle of Mass Effect there were suddenly black lines all over the screen. I turn it off, back on and get one red light with a system error message on screen. Do the trouble shooting I found from searching online, nada. It’s a goner. Time to send in my 3rd 360 and get another refurb that’ll die on me within’ a year.
If the PS3’s lineup wasn’t such crap I’d just say fuck the 360, but it’s just so much fun. Maybe it’s time to go for the newer 360’s with the cooler “falcon” chip.
To top all that off, my Lacie external hard drive will not power on. 90+ gigs of comics…gone. Gonna be impossible to find all those again especially with demonoid.com out of commission.
