Wyclef Jean’s All Star Jam at Carnegie Hall

Wyclef and Eric Motherfuckin’ Clapton

Well I had planned to read…or watch Hot Fuzz and ended up doing neither. Thanks in small part to the awesomeness of “Wyclef Jean’s All Star Jam at Carnegie Hall”. With legends such as Clapton and Stevie Wonder, big stars like Mary J. Blige, Steve Marley, Macy Gray, and Marc Anthony, and the biggest surprise for me Charlotte Church this show could do no wrong…well Destiny’s Child was there to bring things to a screeching halt. But if you pretend they imploded on stage then this is a perfect concert.

Clapton is always awesome, Stevie was a nice surprise, and Charlotte Church can fuckin’ sing. She could make a grown man cry with her voice…if he was all girly and bitch-like of course. Sung a beautiful song with Wyclef on guitar. Mary J. and Wyclef sung 911, while Steve Marley joined Wyclef on stage for “No Woman, No Cry.

At one point while introducing the next song, Wyclef says(paraphrasing), “Well we got two brotha’s on stage with some guitars, must mean it’s time for some Pink Floyd.” In walks/stumbles/careens Macy Gray. Why does this woman look perpetually fucked up? Like she just downed a 40oz with some horse tranquilizers. Anyway, the song kicked ass and I’m not a fan of Pink Floyd…at all.

Clapton sung two songs, “Wonderful Tonight” and a new song written & performed by him and Wyclef. Both were awesome. Of course, it is Clapton.

There was more also but those were the highlights for me. Try to catch if you can. Great vibe with great music. I bought the DVD today :)
