With my little bit of free time I had today, I picked up on where I left off in
Deadpool. Read issues 44 thru 48. And while I love me some Deadpool, it fell off fast with issue 46. The art is really bad, and the writing is just as bad if not worse. It’s written by Jimmy Palmiotti and inked by Ron Randall…they suck. Know idea what they’ve done since, but I imagine not much.
With that said, Deadpool is easily one of my favorite comic character’s ever and needs a movie like yesterday. Could be a huge surprise hit if done right….could be Spawn if done wrong. The last arc(Loki, Thom Cruz) kind of ended suddenly as well. Seemed like a cop out…The series has gotten progressively worse but up until issue 46 it was perfectly acceptable reading. After I finish this, I’ll likely move onto Sandman Volume 9…or The Light Fantastic by Terry Pratchett.
This first installment of the trilogy based on the best-selling science fiction novels by Russian writer Sergei Lukyanenko plays upon the tension between light and dark, pitting the superhuman Night Watch patrollers (known as the “Others”) against the shadowed forces of the night. There’s a truce in place but that is threatened by the knowledge of an “Other” who will be the deciding factor between good and evil. Who is he? Which side will he choose?
Pretty decent movie. Great effects, pretty good story. Worth a rental. Not sure about a buy. Be warned it is in Russian so if subtitled movies scare you, then don’t bother.
Movie that surprisingly holds up well. Not a fan of Clooney when he’s the “star”, but in ensemble casts he really shines. Most know of my giant man crush on Mark Wahlberg. There’s yet to be a movie of his I don’t like. And Ice Cube can be good…just not recently. Luckily this isn’t recently, and Clooney’s not the main man so in the end this movie gets a silver star, 3 out of 5 stars, a thumb’s up, a this movie is so totally worth a rental. It’s set during the first Gulf War. The three aforementioned actors are determined to steal a huge cache of stolen Kuwaiti gold reputed to be hidden somewhere near their desert base, the three men find a map in a captured Iraqi’s ass, an “ass map” if you will, they believe will take them to the treasure. Of course it doesn’t go according to the plan and lives are changed. Has some comedy, but overall more of an action drama. Really liked the scene with Mark Wahlberg and the Iraqi interrogator. So check it out if you hadn’t already.
Hello peoples. In an effort to get my life on track and moving forward I’ve decided to start this blog. I’ve had some recent problems as it relates to my past. You can read about it in the “about me” section to the right. My problems are from chapter 5 on. So anyway, I’ve started this to keep me motivated. Plan to update it at least once a day whether I do anything or not. I can’t really get started how I’d like until around November cuz unfortunately I must depend on others to achieve my goals. I’m an incomplete quadriplegic, have been for 15 years. For 14 of those years I’ve done absolutely nothing. I just kinda quit living life. The plan is to become as independent as possible and start my life, albeit 14 years late. I’m not getting any younger and who knows when the end will come. So that is the purpose of this here blog. Hope to keep you at least mildly entertained and don’t be afraid to comment. Questions are welcome as well. I’m an open book.
